Paga Basket – Flight

The Paga Basket has a distinctive vessel form, with a broad rounded centre tapering towards the base and opening. Woven in Bolgatanga from elephant grass (veta vera) sourced around the White Volta flood plains, its unusual proportions make it particularly suited to floor display, dried arrangements or decorative storage. Each Paga is individually woven, so the shape, pattern and dimensions vary from basket to basket.

Description
The elegant and unique Paga Basket is hand-woven from the elephant grass which grows in the rich flood plains of the White Volta near the village of Bolgatanga, Northern Ghana. They’re at their best holding decorations around the home or just sitting pretty.
