FAQs

Pet baskets are handwoven in Bolgatanga, Northern Ghana, using locally grown elephant grass.

Each basket is made by hand using traditional Bolga weaving techniques, resulting in a sturdy yet breathable structure suited to everyday use by dogs and cats. The natural weave allows airflow while holding its shape when used as a resting or sleeping basket.

Styles include open baskets with gently curved sides, shaped by the weaver to suit pets resting inside while remaining stable on the floor.
Each piece reflects the hand of its maker, so slight variations in shape and finish are part of the design.

Bolga pet baskets come in a wide range of sizes, so it’s easy to find one that suits your space and your pet.

Sizes are based on the length of the basket. Smaller baskets measure under 70cm, medium baskets sit around 70–75cm, and larger baskets start from 76cm. We also offer extra-large sizes from 80cm and up, including XXL (around 90cm) and XXXL (around 100cm) options for bigger pets or those who like to stretch out.

Because each basket is handwoven, the width and height vary slightly from piece to piece. You’ll find the full measurements listed on each product page to help you choose comfortably.

If you’re drawn to the look and feel of our pet baskets, you may also like other handwoven pieces made in a similar style.
