ABOUT OUR WOVEN WAWA BASKETS
This large oblong shaped basket features a durable double weave. This double-weave construction uses more elephant grass than many standard basket styles and results in a stronger basket with greater carrying capacity.

What is double weaving in Bolga basket making?
Single weave is one layer of elephant grass. Double weave works a second layer through the body at the same time, up to a week per basket from start to finish. That process is what gives the Mega Wawa its density and structure. The Brighton basket is our other double-woven basket in the range.
