The grass is harvested from the White Volta flood plains, dried, and coiled by hand into forms that are strong, lightweight, and open enough in structure to allow airflow.
Some baskets in this range include leather handles.

All Bashiri Bolga baskets, including the baby and kids range, are made by Frafra weavers in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region of Ghana, the centre of Bolga weaving tradition.
Elephant grass weaving has been practised in this region for generations, and the techniques used to make these handwoven baby baskets today remain consistent with how they have always been made.
Bashiri curates each piece directly from these weaving communities in northern Ghana.
