Some of our most loved woven pieces are our African hats, valued for their comfort, character and timeless design. Ethically sourced and carefully handwoven, each hat reflects a relaxed, earthy aesthetic shaped by generations of craftsmanship in Northern Ghana.
Our collection includes a variety of styles, from structured high top hats to traditionally inspired Fulani hats, along with wide and narrow brim options designed to suit all head sizes, from children through to adults. Woven using natural tan elephant grass as a base, each piece is finished with carefully selected colours and patterns that highlight the skill of the weaver.
The elephant grass used in our hats is sustainably harvested from the flood plains surrounding Bolgatanga in Ghana and coloured using non toxic dyes. For added functionality, our wide brim hats feature upcycled goat leather neck straps, combining practicality with traditional materials.
For over two decades, we have worked closely with local weaving communities, supporting families and helping to preserve artistic traditions that continue to thrive through shared knowledge and skill.

Bolga hats are handmade by artisans in and around Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana, using sustainably sourced elephant grass.
The grass is locally grown in the flood plains around the region, hand-dyed with non-toxic dyes, and woven into a lightweight yet durable hat.
They include narrow, wide, and giant brim styles, and suit a wide range of head sizes, for children, women and man.
Wide brim hats are finished with an upcycled leather neck strap for added practicality.
Each hat is woven entirely by hand, supporting long-standing weaving traditions and providing fair, ongoing work for local weaving families we have worked with for over two decades.
We offer a range of Bolga hat styles to suit different tastes and practical needs:
High Top Hats – a taller crown for a distinctive silhouette.
Narrow Brim Hats – classic shape with a subtle brim.
Wide Brim Hats – broader brim for extra shade and presence.
Fulani Hats – inspired by traditional Fulani designs.
Giant Brim Hats – extra-large brim for maximum coverage and style.

Individually listed hats, where each piece is photographed and described, and the exact hat shown is the one you receive.
