Our Bwa Masks are handmade in Burkina Faso.
Soulful traditional Bwa masks are worn historically at religious celebrations. Traditionally Bwa Masks are used on several occasions throughout the year, including initiations, burials, annual renewal rites associated with planting and harvesting, and ceremonies celebrating the consecration of a new mask.
Each traditional Bwa Mask embodies and symbolises a range of protective spirits so me of which are, Birds, monkeys, butterflies, to the sun itself!
A chance to let our spirit animal be seen! They make beautiful decorative statement pieces, either resting on a display or hung on the wall. Bwa Masks add an eclectic chic touch to any home!
